Aquarius/SAC-D tracks
Aquarius/SAC-D Tracks
[29-Feb-12] This image shows Aquarius/SAC-D satellite ground tracks (black lines) superimposed on sea surface salinity data (colors). The thick black line shows one example track with corresponding data swaths (pink) from Aquarius's three radiometers. Inset shows the dimensions of each radiometer (pink ovals) that, together, equal a swath width of 390 km (242 mi). In the inset, 0 km "cross-track distance" corresponds to the track directly below the satellite. Credit: Gary Lagerloef.
