A Lasting Legacy: Aquarius/SAC-D's Education and Public Outreach Efforts
deCharon, A. and Rabolli, M. (17-Nov-15)

Throughout the life of Aquarius/SAC-D, NASA and CONAE have worked closely together to share the excitement, findings, and societal importance of the mission. Their individual and collective efforts have reached thousands of people, including teachers who have been trained to include topics related to the mission's science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in their classrooms. A key component of these endeavors has been highlighting how globally important objectives, such as improving STEM education and public appreciation of earth-observing satellite technology, can be achieved through synergistic international collaboration. This presentation highlights the accomplishments of the Aquarius/SAC-D education and public outreach programs, along with plans for ensuring that the outputs of these efforts will continue to have positive impacts for years to come.
